How many of you believe that God cannot lie? Well, if you believe God cannot lie, do you believe this? “So if the Son liberates you [makes you free men], then you are really and unquestionably free” (John 8:36, AMP). God said that. Do you believe it? I’m asking these questions because the primary theme of this issue of CHANGE is freedom.
Even with all the grace teaching out there today, it’s still so hard for some people to accept all that God has freely given to us through His grace. We always feel that we have to qualify for it by doing something. But, that’s the world’s system. Nothing we can do will qualify us for anything in God’s system. Our efforts to be righteous are like filthy rags. We must trust the grace and the finished works of Jesus. He’s already made us righteous and perfect in His sight. A true revelation of grace will keep us “Jesus-centered and graced-filled!” Whom the Son sets free is truly free indeed!
My article entitled “True Freedom” discusses what it cost God to make us free. Believing and receiving what Christ has done is how we walk in our freedom and deliverance. To supplement that article you’ll find “Confessions of Freedom” under the Faith Speaks column. When you declare and decree a thing it shall be established (Job 22:28).
In her article this month, “Act Like a Lady”, Taffi addresses a subject near and dear to her heart: women carrying and conducting themselves as virtuous women. As daughters of the King, she shares why women must be willing to raise the bar and carry themselves like royalty, which is what they are in the eyes of God! Just like Jesus’ mother Mary, women are “highly favored and deeply loved” daughters of the Most High God (Luke 1:28).
In order for Believers to become the virtuous women (and men) that God has called us to be, we must have a revelation that we have been marked by God’s love. I talk about His love in “What True Love Looks Like?” Many of us settle for the counterfeit. But God’s love is not like “wishy-washy” human love. God’s love is genuine, lasting, unfailing, untainted, unchanging, uncompromising, and never-ending. Nothing can separate us from God’s love! (Romans 8:39).
Do you need evidence of God’s love? Jesus sent us a Helper, the Holy Spirit, to help us in all areas of our life. When we pray in tongues, He’s helping us with our weaknesses, our infirmities, and things we don’t even know we need to pray about—but God knows! Praying in tongues is a grace gift. We didn’t do anything to deserve it. God gave it to us because of His grace and love for us. In the It’s All About Grace column I will share more about this grace gift.
I pray that this issue of CHANGE will ignite a fire in you as scorching hot as the blazing summer sun—a fire that cannot be quenched as you once again begin to hunger and thirst after God—and begin to walk in the freedom Jesus’ shed blood purchased for you!
We love hearing about what God is doing in your life, and we would love to hear how the Gospel of grace is impacting you, so please share your testimonies! Your feedback is important to us, and we would love to hear from you. Please e-mail us at CHANGE@worldchangers.org or send your thoughts to:
