Can you imagine yourself with the things you desire? In other words, can you see yourself with them? I often tell people: if you can’t see it, you will never possess it. Hope is a vision or an inner image of something. It is earnest expectation; the blueprint of anything we can imagine. When we have hope, we have a positive vision for our future. We can see good things happening.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). However, you must have hope before you can exercise faith. If we want to be successful in the Kingdom of God, we must create an inner image of success.
So how do we plant hope inside our hearts? And once hope is planted, how do we keep it alive? We plant hope inside ourselves by meditating on the Word. Many people think meditation is a tool used only in occults or other religious practices. However, the Bible teaches us to meditate on the Word of God day and night. It says that the person who meditates on God’s Word will prosper (Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:1-3).
God prospers us by prospering our souls first. The soul is the mind, will, and emotions. Therefore, we must first renew our minds with the Word of God. And that renewal process will then begin to change our thinking, our decisions, and our emotions, causing the things we hope for, according to God’s Word, to manifest.
Every physical manifestation we have is a result of a word seed we have planted in our hearts—whether good or bad. If we plant within us a Word from God, then that particular word is what will manifest in our lives. For example, I saw the World Dome (the building we hold our churches services in) before it was even built. When God gave me the Word to build it debt free, I started working on my faith and the vision of it. The vision of the World Dome grew inside of me. I even saw myself preaching in it. Now the World Dome is a reality, and thousands of people worship God there every week! And we built it debt free!
God created the imagination so that we could see ourselves doing the things He has predestined for us to do. It was not designed for sinful, lustful or negative things. In other words, our imagination was given to us to fulfill God’s will and plan for our lives, not Satan’s.
Satan uses our imagination when we allow fear into our hearts, which causes us to lose hope. When we lose hope, we begin to doubt the Word and worry about our circumstances. Worrying is a form of negative meditation, which can even cause stress, sicknesses, and disease.
Please don’t allow Satan to use your mind to paint images of failure and lack. Instead, see yourself doing what the Word says you can do and having what the Word says you can have. Go before God in prayer and begin to create an inner image of the vision He has for your life. Allow His vision to take root in your imagination. Then cultivate it with His Word. When you do, it won’t be long before you will see His promises come to pass. This is how you make your way prosperous and succeed in life.
